In the past I\u2019ve found Havi <\/a>to be very helpful in helping me get through the stuckness in what I do.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve drifted away lately and hadn\u2019t been able to put my finger on why.

\nThis post today<\/a>, helped me to understand why I\u2019m not engaging.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m an all-out-there person (you may have noticed) – if I tell it, I tell it. I find that Havi prefers to keep the detail of a lot of the things she is stuck with to herself. While I respect that, I\u2019ve realised that *for my taste* it removes a lot of the colour from her writing.<\/p>\n

This post, where there are 3 things with (for my interest) inadequate detail, followed by a [silent retreat] <\/a>made me see what my problem is. I need a context. \u201cI have a problem with a thing that happened\u201d doesn\u2019t engage me. \u201cMy neighbour called me a big fat donkey (pun intended) so now I have to check the hallway before leaving my flat\u201d tells me a lot more both about the situation and the person in it.<\/p>\n

I fully respect Havi\u2019s need to keep things private and not share other people\u2019s stuff or contribute to gossip. However, I think I personally would find a bit more context more helpful.<\/p>\n

There’s probably more analysis to be done here – maybe I’m feeling hurt because I’ve been willing to share but someone else hasn’t? Whatever the deeper meaning, it will be interesting to see whether being aware of this helps me to stick with Havi more or drift on elsewhere.<\/p>\n

In contrast, another blogger I can’t get enough of is Penelope Trunk<\/a>. You couldn’t accuse Penelope of keeping anything close to her chest. However, there are only *some ways in which I want to be like her when I grow up…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
