Having started the socks mentioned in my previous post again from scratch, this time knitting on 2.75 instead of 2.25mm needles, they seem to be growing absurdly quickly…
Indeed, I’d barely checked that they were big enough for a foot this time, when I was preparing to turn the heel…
And this morning – less than a week later – I cast off the top (jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind-off, for those interested).
The shock was so much that on Saturday, I baked a cake.
(chocolate base, almond essence in the icing and the sugar strands are less than 5 years out of date (I think))
Sock 2 is cast on, fingers crossed for a speedy completion – the idea for the next set of socks is jumping about in my head going “me next! me next!”
20 hours later, there isn’t any cake left.
