Isolde is nearly finished. I just need to sew in the ends, and fix the hole that gapes at the front of the neck when I wear it. Then I just need to lose weight, and magically change the colours, and it’ll be perfect. The colours seemed great when I was looking at the balls on the tableĀ they complemented (complimented? which one?) each other well, nothing screamed out just how pants these colours were going to look in the above combination.
My problem, as ever, was the off-piste work. I changed the skirt so the colours banded evenly – the garter on the front rather than on the reverse. I may have increased too many on the skirt on one side, making it a bit wonky. I changed the colours – I was supposed to do dark teal & burgundy on the skirt, but chose to replace burgundy with fuschia so that I used roughly the same of each colour, instead of way more of the burgundy. This means the skirt is now *much* lighter than the rest, and looks a bit odd. The sleeves are also shorter than the pattern says – if I’d done 6 repeats like the pattern said, they’d be dragging on the floor.
So there you go, it’s nearly finished, and although I don’t hate it, I may have to do something drastic to fall (back) in love with it.
