a “quiet” day in

We had a quiet day in today – no church (for which I feel a bit bad, but as the 3rd Sunday in the month it would have been church parade, so no children’s liturgy, and probable bug-out half way through) and no firm appointments other than Steve’s canvassing this morning.
While Daddy was out, we made cookies. The kids helped at every step of the way, and were especially keen on painting the cookies.
We’ve also made a letter tree to help Lily with her letter-learning, changed the bedding, hung washing out to dry, changed the light switches in Joel’s room (turns out something else is making the bulb flash when it’s off – the fitting itself is next to be replaced), dome some tidying, taken cookies to Jean’s next door, played some wii games, glued our curtain rail back up, browsed the Argos catalogue, planned kitchen improvements, costed up worktops for the kitchen, measured the living room doorway, mended Will the Rabbit’s armpit, done a bit of knitting, written up canvassing results, made a big pretend birthday cake, made a mess, found some things, and I think that *might* be about it!!
I was going to call Oz this morning, but Steve was preparing for canvassing after my lie-in, so I couldn’t guarantee no interruptions. Will call soon!!
