Just returned from an overnight camping trip in Prestatyn. We’ve discovered:
– Joel may be allergic to cat hairs
– we need better sleeping bags (it was CHUFFING FREEZING)
– one of our new single airbeds has a slow puncture
– even a slight slope makes a big difference when you’re lying down
– thermos flasks only work for a couple of hours – overnight is Too Long
– campsites next to “A” roads are too noisy
– we need a table, a couple more chairs, crockery, heat source, sausage & beans in a tin and generally A Better Plan
Am impressed at our spontenaiety. though. We only decided to head off yesterday lunchtime and an hour later we were on the road. We’ve vowed to kit up and head off next available weekend – about 3 weeks time. We need to get the hang of this by Glastonbury… (end of June)
I’m knackered, but we’ve had a lovely day. We went to Conwy today, to check out a couple more camp sites, went back to the castle & got Lily a unicorn to go with the princess we bought on our trip with you guys, had lunch in the same fab cafe, ice creams on the harbour, and then went to the beach on the other side of the estuary, getting home for bathtime. Am now going to eat chocolate, drink wine & fall asleep in front of the telly. And appreciate having warm feet!
