I like blue hydrangeas, but the two plants I have were last year festooned with very pink flowers. The Internet tells me this is down to soil acidity, and at the end of last season the Internet also told me that adding coffee to the soil will help with this.

We have plenty of spent coffee, Steve averages 5 cups a day, give or take, so I’m starting a regime of adding a tub per week.

Let’s see what that does, eh.

In other news, I fitted a new tap to the water butt yesterday, as the old one was broken in an unfortunate skate-boarding incident. It rained last night, so it’s already full again. The miracle of weather, eh?!
