What’s leapt out at me from the new Twist Collective? I started out thinking there wans’t a lot in there, but I’ve actually favourited quite a few patterns…
I found it very hard to turn the page onward from this…
I would probably use different colours – although I’m not certain I would – I’m liking the fair isle which is there, but not too in-your-face and the neckline looks as though it would nicely avoid the monoboob problem us ladies with larger shelves sometimes have…
This looks like a good challenge, although I have quite a few shawls lined up already… I like the colour combo here.
I really like the sleeve detail on this one, although I fear the cowl neck will do my double chins no favours. I may need to have a go, but adapt to a v-neck somehow…
I also really like this one…
…and the fact that it was referred to in its description as “a Henley” made me look up Henley and has resulted in several new additions to my faves list, viz this rosewood henley and, it turns out this henley perfected was already on there, along with about 5 others. Maybe I should make one sometime soon, eh?!
This looks fairly fab, although as yet another scarf it’s batting on a sticky wicket…
but it did lead me to Cat Bhordi’s pussy willow socks, which look rather great along with all the other socks in this book…
This one I barely glanced at the first time I saw it, but several things have led me to reconsider…
Because I follow both the designer of this cardigan and the makers of yarn used to make this cardigan, I had 2 extra people telling me to give it another look. Having just made myself a short sleeved cardigan, you’d think I’d be more open to the idea of them. This has a bit of texture (which I’ve been told isn’t good for me) but not *too* much. Although it’s in a shade of brown I would never wear in a million years, I think that could be changed. Plus, it has pockets. I like the idea of pockets. Indeed, at the weekend, Lily turned to me while wearing her new cardigan and said, somewhat crossly “Mummy, why didn’t you put pockets on this?!”
Plus, and this is the clincher, it is “worked bottom up using the simultaneous set in sleeve method”. What?! Eh?! This has me super-curious and I may have to get it for this information alone. Set in sleeves without having to sew them in? I’ve become quite kick-ass at sewing in set-in sleeves lately be even so, this plan intrigues me. I need to hear more, and if it’s only going to cost me $7 count me in.
So all in all, this might have shot to the top of my to-do list. Until the next new-big-thing I see, of course…
The main thing that struck me, though, about this Twist Collective, is the styling. They’ve really outdone themselves this time, and I’ll be browsing & re-browsing to try and collect my thoughts on how I’d like to dress in future. Although, having said that, I can’t really find any pages other than the first one I’ve linked to here where I’d actually *wear* what’s shown in the combo it’s shown in. Must be *really* classy styling!
