I have a new (hand-me-down, of course, I don’t get to have new technology very often in this house) mobile phone, with which my bluetooth headset works. This means I can walk around the kitchen or drive hands-free while also talking on the phone.
This works fine if you’re a busy executive sitting in your car by yourself. If you’re a person with small people in a litchen it causes problems. I was testing the system with Dad last night, and both kids came running in shouting about drinks and biscuits. Here are the things:
1. Dad could hear the kids as loudly as he could hear me, so I couldn’t ignore them and carry on like I usually do when they do this.
2. When I said “Please stop shouting, I’m talking to Grandad” they didn’t believe me, and carried on shouting. I think they thought I’d finally lost it and started listening to The Voices or something. I didn’t ask Dad how loud the water going into the cups fcrom the tap was, but he asked at the end of the call if I’d managed to get anything else done while on the phone, so I guess he didn’t hear me making drinks.
Roll on the Crazy Lady talking to herself in the kitchen!!
you can’t be the crazy talking to yourself lady yet – you are too young and you don’t have enough cats!
Maybe he was being sarcastic? Not like him, I know…..
