I mentioned last week that I had seen a new collection that had got me all excited.

OH MY WORD. I basically want to knit all of the things. I was originally sucked in by Trestle because I love me some unconventional structure and the graded stripes look an awful lot like a fibonacci-like sequence which I used for a felted shopping bag a while ago (Pattern is from Debbie Bliss Home, yarn is some untreated wool in which the lanolin is STRONG I got for a snip off ebay from a woman who once designed a sweater for Princess Diana – I’m pretty sure that makes me nearly Royal). I say fibonacci-*like* because I didn’t repeat the 1 and in both my home and work life there are more than enough people who are willing to point out that this makes my bag Wrong.

So, sucked in by Trestle, I find I also love…

• The shawl colour and subtle texture on Little Wave
• The simplicity of Carpino
• The ridged texture of Greenwood
• Brigitte. I’m loving the idea of a scarf-y hood at the minute. Although, admittedly, this is more hood than scarfy, so maybe I’ll leave it for gifts for other people
• I like the twiddles on the front of Rook, but I think this one is safe – it’s too bulky & high necked for me so would invoke the dreaded monoboob effect (like this – not a great look).
• Svalbard. For a kick-off, I just love the name. Then that colour is one of my favourites at the moment. And it’s a drapey cardigan. I’m going to ignore for now that I have at least 2 other drapey cardigans that I’ve made an two courtesy M&S in my wardrobe.
• Ceridwen is a serious risk. Although I remember the pain and trauma of the last time I knitted a non-lacy scarf, this is calling to me. It looks like it would be interesting to knit, and I love how it looks. How will I feel, though, as I enter the 4th foot in its length? Watch this space…
• the textured panels around Persimmon just make it, along with the dropped hem at the back (I like the idea that something is distracting from my arse, even if it actually probably isn’t. Especially after yesterday when I wripped a hole in my favourite jeans trying to barge behind Justin and my rear end caught on the whiteboard pen holder. Boo!)
• Skydottir also looks marv. I’m all positive about circular Yokes after the outstanding success of my Ski Jacket which, it occurs to me, I haven’t blogged about yet. It’s now on The List.

So. I may drop hints for Christmas, or I may raid the piggy bank. And in about 5 years time I may make something off this list…
