Christmas Stockings update

6 completed mini-stockings

I’m making good progress on the stockings – I now have what Joel described as “a fountain of stockings”. I’d got up to 21 but someone’s just asked me to send them 10 which, although it’s a fab kick-start, means I’m now a bit low on stock (or will be, once I’ve got them sent off 😉  ). The ones I’m happy with are all versions of what’s above. It’s not easy to tell from this, but the white ones with pink or blue cuffs are made from yarn which has a thread of sparkle going through them. I’m very much liking these, and I think makes a good counterpoint to the blue yarn which has sequins on and the pink eyelash yarn. I made several with the blue sequinned yarn as the main colour, but the sequins tend to go through to the reverse side of the stocking stitch. I’ve tried inside out and garter stitch, but neither looks right. I think the looped top gives a good level of flamboyance to the thing. This is now The Style for which I’m using this yarn!

I can reveal the other hands on deck now – the lovely Evie from Pendle Stitches is also participating, as her husband and I work for the same company now. Given the quality of what she usually produces, I’m sure they’ll be fighting in the aisles not to be left with the second rate knitted ones – Evie tells me she’s planning felt stitched ones which I’m sure will be fab. I casually asked if she would like to participate, and got the message back about 5 minutes later that we were on.

So: again – if you would like to have some of these, I’m after a minimum donation of £1 per stocking plus £1 P&P – if I’m mailing them to you there won’t be chocolate in them. If you are in a position to take hand delivery and want chocolate in them (it will be something like a fun-size choccy bar or a couple of Heroes) I’ll be after at least £2 each. Proceeds are going to a mix of childrenscrf.org (where I used to work) and the A-T Society (which has a connection with my current work).

Thanks in anticipation for your support!
