I appreciate that seeing pictures of slightly bigger patches of dug-over ground is about as interesting as watching paint dry, but I’m still going to subject you to them.
I added about 1/3 to the size of the dug-over area this morning, which was no mean feat, especially after running 5km (another PB achieved this week!). There are a *lot* of roots in the back foot or so – a terrible combination of blueberry bush remnants & rampant nettles. At one point I couldn’t lift the fork, and I fully expect to feel that effort in my back tomorrow.
In the afternoon we went on a garden centre crawl and got two kinds of onions sets (red and white) and broad bean seeds. Apparently it’s too early for garlic – it needs to be properly cold or they won’t split into cloves, so we’ll just have to go back. We also got an incinerator, so we can reduce the huge pile of woody waste we have by the compost heap (seen here to the left of the newly-dug patch).
For some reason my phone really didn’t want to take a panoramic shot of the garden today, so you’re having to make do with a shot taken from just in front if the raspberry canes. Hopefully normal service will be resumed after I’ve upgraded my phone’s o/s. Or something.
