The trouble with tidying up…

This morning’s gardening has been all about tidying up – and the trouble with tidying up is that it’s hard to appreciate where you’ve been without a before/after shot. Because then you’re just looking at tidiness and thinking that that’s how it *should* look.

So please believe me when I say that achieving this look for this bit of path has been non-trivial. Last winter half of the old damson tree broke off and spent the winter “out of the way” on this path. It is now elsewhere, apart from the main branch which needs a saw taking to it.

The “allotment” is now less over shadowed at the back, I’ve exposed the line of bricks that mum & I laid along the back and started to weave a little retaining “fence” using the beech branches I chopped down (click the image to get the full panorama effect).

It’s fair to say it isn’t *super* photogenic as it’s hardly visible on the panoramic shot. It’s not as neat as I would like, but it’s a start!
